Myall U3A totally embraced SCAMS AWARENESS WEEK 2022 by hosting a FREE presentation at the Baptist Church, Tea Gardens last Sunday.
A big thank you to all who supported this very informative session, it was amazing to find out the level of cleverness these dodgy scammers will go to just to cheat you out of your good hard-earned money!
And…it’s not always money they will attempt to steal from you. These horrible people do not discriminate, the more vulnerable you are the harder they hit. Essentially what I took away from this presentation was ‘Trust NO-ONE’ your banks, healthcare, phone companies and any government departments will NEVER contact you asking for private and confidential information including log on details, passwords etc, so NEVER disclose anything to anyone, unless you are contacting them directly yourself!
Protect your identity at all costs and remember if it ‘sounds to good to be true’ it probably is!
