Our ‘Community Choir’ caters to a broad range amongst choir members – in terms of experience, abilities and tastes in music. In order to cater to the
various needs of individual members and the choir as a whole, choir sessions have a clear structure that incorporates well-considered pedagogical principles
balanced with fun, flexibility and joyful music-making.
All choir members are of equal status and value yet will also be invited to contribute in a manner commensurate with their personal circumstances, skills, knowledge and experience.
We welcome new members and our initial practice structure and music
repertoire in 2025 will be designed to assist new members feel comfortable
and confident within the choir. This will allow us over the coming year to
explore a broad range of music genres & vocal repertoire, and to be
adventurous in terms of levels of difficulty and complexity of both arranged
and improvised music.
It is now well-established by scientific research that engaging in music making, particularly singing within a group setting, can make a significant contribution to the health and well-being of participants.
We are fortunate to have a unique community of people with a vast wealth of life experiences, skills and knowledge and the capacity for mutually respectful and loving relationships.
In 2025 I will continue to do my best endeavours
towards facilitating the coming together of individual voices within a safe and supportive environment where we can co-create a cohesive musical ensemble that engages in and shares our joy and hope through our music making.
Choir will be held in the Baptist Church Hall, Myall St, Tea Gardens, from 9-
45am til 12noon each Wednesday during School Terms.
Best wishes for 2025.
We cannot listen to one voice above all others. We must listen to a choir of voices if we are to understand the individual tunes.
